Simplicity With Monomeals
At first, I thought this could be a dangerous thing to do. I was worried about not getting enough nutrients, and not hitting my macros.
My father told me not a long time ago about monomeals and the benefits that they have. And I kept that in mind as I do my best to simplify my life as much as I can, and have a minimalist approach. Doing so, it feels so good. So, I did some research on Google, and Youtube to see if this would be healthy to do. I especially loved watching this video of Scott Abel !
I got so much valuable information from there… Like, when it comes to food, everyone loves it. We crave it. The more ingredients in our dishes the better (that’s how we perceive food). However, eating too much variety of food in one sitting can cause digestive issues. Also, putting many ingredients can trick us into thinking and feeling like we need to eat the whole dish not really feeling satiated. If we eat one food, the body can feel satiation quicker, and the food breakdown easily.
The meals that I usually eat are pretty simple. No need to romanticize them. Here is an example.
I decided to give it a try and it’s easier than I thought. I noticed that digestion was better and it’s a time saver as you don’t have to think about what to eat since it’s one type of food as a meal. Also, I found myself having more energy and mind clarity. For example, I like to have 10 bananas for a meal, or 1kg of grapes or half of watermelon. When it comes to cooked food, now I focus my eating lifestyle on raw but I have rice from time to time. When I eat rice, I only eat a bowl of rice, with nothing added to it and it tastes so good !
This is not something I would strictly do every day, but it’s definitely perfect for a detox phase !
