Creating Content Just Because
Don’t you think that we have to create content that needs to go viral ? Content that needs to have a huge impact, and that the crowd likes otherwise it’s not useful.
Well, I can’t entirely agree with that because that’s why a lot of people don’t create and stay silent. That was me for a long time. I stopped writing my blog thinking that Reels and TikTok videos were the trend to follow, but I don’t really feel comfortable making short videos daily. It’s draining, exhausting, not for me.
I don’t think I am the only one in this case. Many people feel small and prefer to consume content rather than take action. We are so focused on what others are doing, especially influencers on Instagram and TikTok. Thinking that what we have to say or show is irrelevant. I realized that’s not true at all.
Many photographers can agree that sometimes we take pictures because it makes sense for us and that’s all that matters. Same thing when we travel, we take a lot of pictures as souvenirs and end up sharing them on social media without thinking about money or the trend.
Social media forces us to create content that people like, choose a niche to gain followers, have comments, and likes, become influencers, have clients, etc… NUMBERS, NUMBERS, NUMBERS ! And there is nothing wrong with all of that and making money in the end. However, sometimes, creating content just because, without explanation is cool. Just because we love it, it’s fun, it makes sense for us. People might like it or not, but I don’t care. That’s why blogging and of course, photography suits me the most in content creation. I get to write how and what I want. And creating content just like that allows me to stay consistent with my writing. Plus, creating content just because we want to, leads automatically to people liking it !
