For several years, we have been living in a digital age with the power of social media, especially with platforms like Instagram and TikTok. They have revolutionized the way models connect with brands. In fact, social media has become the new runway for models and influencers to showcase their talent and connect with a global audience. With millions of users scrolling through these platforms every day, it's no surprise that brands have taken notice. As a result, there has been an explosion in influencer marketing - where companies partner with popular social media personalities to promote their products or services. This trend is only set to grow as more businesses realize the power of this type of advertising.

But what does this mean for aspiring models ? It means that now, you have access to opportunities like never before! You don't need an agent or connections within the industry; all you need is your phone and some creativity ! And if you have a camera and can shoot yourself like I do, then that’s so much better ! By building up your following, even small on Instagram or TikTok (or any other platform), you can attract attention from brands looking for fresh faces.

If you find yourself not having a huge following on your social media (from 0 to 500 followers) that’s totally fine, based on my experience. Here are 4 tips for working with brands as a model with little to no experience:
Pitch yourself to local brands. Offer your services for free (if you just start) or at a low rate to get your foot in the door.
Go to fashion events to meet designers. You never know who you will encounter.
Become a UGC content creator.
Create content as if you were working for brands to attract them.
Sometimes we think that we have to reach the top to be noticed and get booked. There are so many opportunities out there. Instead of sitting on the fact that we need to be more to succeed, we just need consider ourselves like we are capable of doing the work, no matter how many followers we have !
