No-Sugar Challenge For A Better Health - Are You Up For It ?

Anyone passing in front of a bakery and can’t help but buy something ? Or just craving a sweet snack ?

I noticed a few weeks ago that I developed an addiction to sugar in some way. I found myself almost everyday eating food with added sugar and not just a small piece. Eating too much refined carbs leads to water retention and bloating, and I experienced that. We tend to think we are hungry whereas what we need is to drink water. All that is because hunger signals are stronger than thirst ones.

So many times, I bought ice creams, espacially the Ben&Jerry’s Cookie Dough ice cream, my favorite, and eat all the pot in one sitting... Yes, 406g ! According to Dr.Berg, this is one of the worst ice cream, he explains in this video.

You’ll see in the article What Happens to Your Body When You Cut Out Sugar . If all the benefits don’t motivate us, we’ll keep being in this circle of avoiding sugar and binge eating from time to time.

By “No Sugar Challenge”, I mean no added sugar. I would keep get the sugar from fruits and dates, which are natural. And I think, we need to normalize the fact eating healthy is normal and not a diet. And eating too much sugar is not normal and dangerous. The problem is that we pay too much attention to the commercials promoting unhealthy foods, we trust them without doing our own research. Or, we simply know that the foods are not beneficial for us in the long run and we consciously eat them trying to cope with some emotions or just eat out of boredom (that would be another topic). We want to live longer but don’t entirely match that desire with our lifestyles.

Example of a meal I eat.

So from yesterday, I decided to go for a no-sugar challenge without setting an end date. The goal is to go as far as I can and enjoy detoxing the body from sugar !
